Doomfist’s new Rocket Punch

Overwatch players saw that a switch into Doomfist's Rocket Punch capability after the latest upgrade to the match evaluation server.

Rocket Punch is designed to create Doomfist lunge forwards and horizontally while hitting anything in his path. He's supposed to traveling horizontally even if in mid afternoon, ignoring gravity before the ability's cartoon is finished. But at the PTR this motion has been influenced by gravity throughout the cartoon.

Blizzard did not mention this shift in the PTR patch notes, which left players wonder if it had been a planned change to the mechanic of their capability or only a bug. Luckily for Doomfist mains, one of Blizzard's programmers has verified it is a bug which will be fixed shortly.

Among the biggest problems of the bug is the way that it may impact Doomfist's freedom in large ground regions, because Rocket Punch launches him forwards a fantastic space and gives him an advantage over other personalities with fewer mobility choices.

Some players at the Overwatch forums brought up this problem and explained the shift in movies. Two movies shared by a participant named Narf showcase how this insect affects Doomfist. From the reside servers, in which Doomfist can nevertheless utilize Rocket Punch to proceed horizontally, he could cross the gap between 2 large floor areas in Watchpoint: Gibraltar effortlessly, whilst he hardly makes it at the PTR on account of the additional vertical rate.

Rocket Punch may also be utilized in among Doomfist's skill combos, in which a participant would launch up an opponent using the Rising Uppercut then hit them with the Rocket Punch, knocking them back a fantastic distance. This bug may have little impact in the combo because the competition is usually near Doomfist when he implements it. However there might be some scenarios where it'd be almost impossible to reach competitions away with Rocket Punch for this particular bug.
